Jason Ryan is a Professional Video & Karaoke DJ, with over 25 Years of experience. Specializing in the best music to fit your latest Event. Whether it’s the newest Clean or Original Versions, from Top 40 to the most underground/ rare and innovative mixes you desire. Dedicated in making your gathering a memorable experience. Being up to date is very important with there being alot of competition these days. From choosing price range, to quality work, and being capable to be bilingual in English or Spanish Music/ announcements as needed. Many qualitys to always look for in a DJ are being on time, taking requests, working in seconds on demand, but most of all a friendly buisness person. Knowledge of original crate diggin doesn’t hurt. Growing up Jason had many music influences and family with an extended background of all styles.
Starting Djing in 1992 at the age of 12, while Jason’s Mother was a promoter for Power 106. “My mom would bring home endless vinyl, Miranda, Skee-lo, Natalia, Phuture Scope, Aqua Boogie Tracks, Armand Van Helden, to name a few. I would go where ever I could and when a DJ wouldnt show up, I was able to jump on the Technics. I was spinning at Tasty Tuesdays with DJ Orlando and others. My uncle was part of the party crew Notorious back in days. He gave me a Hat. I was wearing it that night, they asked me what I called myself I didnt have a name at that moment. So they said “DJ Notorious”. I carried that name for years. Until I was introduced to Kcrw 89.9 and Doc Martin from a close friend of mine DJ Suave. Listening to Groove Radio and going to Raves to watch the Funky Techno Tribe, DJ Sneak, DJ Heather, DYMK with Tony Largo, David Alvarado, Little Louie Vega etc, I realized DJ Notorious was more of a hiphop name. So I jumped to Jason Ryan, from then many have called me DJ Jason, Flaco in the Latin Community and while being a resident DJ at the Lakewood Hop they named me DJ Twik going into the Century Club and Rumba Room.”
In the Early 2000’s after working at Tower Records for 3 years, Jason moved to Laguna Beach. After that visiting DEMF the Detroit Electronic Music Festival in 2003 for a week was enough to inspire a Techno DJ. But many wouldn’t except the Detroit Techno sound in Southern California it was too much for them, too Underground. So Jason was introduced to a spot named Kollas Night Club. “I was introduced to a very special friend named DJ Pepe. That is where I got into Regional Music (Corridos, Banda, Sonidero etc). I was already always opened minded into alot of Sounds. I collected it even though I spun deep house or hiphop out. One day Ramon Ayala passes the stage and says “Your The DJ” ha ha I was amazed he handed me 3 CDs and then I knew If Ramon Ayala accepted me into the scene I was doing something right.”
In The Late 2000’s Jason moved back into La Puente, Ca for 2 huge reasons to take care of his Mom who has medical conditions and his son Amadeus who is now a Freshman at Glendora High School. It was harder to get back into the Scene moving back. But Jason quickly hit the Bar Scene, where he quickly got into spinning Video’s and Karaoke.
